FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. Will you shoot beyond Charleston?
We are centrally located in Hanahan, so we are always available from Mount Pleasant and Johns Island to Summerville and Cane Bay. If the shoot is small enough, I am willing to travel around the Carolinas, but requiring excessive gear or second shooter/shooting assistants may limit my ability to travel.
Additionally, if you're just looking for editing, we can work with clients from all over the world.
2. Do you offer photography?
Aether Motion focuses solely on film and sound, with the exception of single-person headshots. If you need photography beyond that, we strongly recommend our friends at Ciotti Industries. Ahren Ciotti is both extremely talented and effortless to work with.
3. What is your turnaround time?
Turnaround time is largely based on the amount of footage captured, the target length of the project, and complexity. Commercials, featurettes, event coverage, and interviews have a fairly fast turnaround time of 3 weeks or less. More complex projects, like music videos, short films, and wedding packages, can take from 6-8 weeks. We will offer a more specific estimate when we meet with you.
4. What format will I receive my movie in?
We provide a complimentary digital HD copy. We can accommodate your needs for WMV, AVI, MPEG, and a variety of other formats. A thumb drive or SD card hard copy is available for $30.
As of July 2016, we now provide DVDs as well! By request, you may receive one complimentary DVD. Additional DVDs are $45 each.
5. How do I pay?
Consultations are always FREE. Once we agree on a project and a price, we request a 50% deposit before the shoot, 25% upon first proof, and the final 25% upon completion/delivery. Don't worry - the deposit is fully refundable up to 14 days before the shoot in case you cancel. We invoice electronically, allowing you to pay through credit/debit, Venmo or PayPal. We also accept check.
6. What is your full cancellation policy?
The initial deposit is refundable if you cancel up to 14 days before the shoot. If you cancel with less than 14 days before the shoot, your deposit is nonrefundable, but you owe Aether Motion no additional funds. If you cancel during post-production, a 30% kill fee of the remaining balance will be owed. If your contract expires, you may also be charged for work delivered.
7. Is there anything you won't film?
Adult films, political ads, or any content that will be used to disparage an individual or a protected class. We are also not the best people to approach for court videography, sports, home video, underwater videography, or IMAX and 3D film. Other than that, get us a shot! Although we specialize in small businesses and "indie" clients, we're happy to take a look at more established corporations, audition reels, real estate, and more.
